SppDb

SppDb store plant knowledge

Plant knowledge is one of the most valuable skills a landscape designer has to sell. We have developed SppDb, an application for capturing that knowledge. When combined with various landscape design tools, such as gCADPlus, SppDb can enhance design drawings.

Use SppDb (aka Species Database) to store and retrieve plant knowledge and make that plant data available while designing gardens and broader landscapes.

Features
  • Store information about plants you know and work within your local design setting.
  • Use SppDb as a ‘memory jogger’ to find species that solve a particular landscape design problem.
  • Add new species and update SppDb as you become familiar with their growth and characteristics to build your intellectual property.
  • Easily export and import data to and from CAD software such as gCADPlus.
Why not give SppDb a try?

Download a trial version of SppDb – it’s a quick and easy zip file download, and we do not require an email address or hassle you in any way to purchase. SppDb version 5.0  is now available for download.

Plant database This movie showcases the use of SppDb.

SppDb runs under Windows, but happily under CrossOver or Parallels on Macs or Linux.

Tip: The SppDb setup file includes a small sample set of species data. Although useful, you will create your database, add information about your favourite plants that do well in your area, and refine it as you gain more experience. We think it’s a good idea to start with our sample database, remove unwanted species, and add new ones.
