This movie shows the use of the AREA tool in the gCADPlus environment. We take a design for a site that includes a small orchard at the rear. The designer wished to accurately measure the gross land area occupied by the orchard and stamp that value in meter square into the landscape plan. Before activating the AREA tool, an appropriate running osnap was set. Then, with the focus on modelspace, the AREA tool was activated from the standard toolbar. The running osnap made it a simple matter to accurately define the area of interest. The area was defined by clicking on a start point and then on boundary points. Once closed by re-picking the start point a yellow cross-hatched zone appeared over the measured area. The exact measured area value was displayed in the command area and copied from there to a single line text entity.
